Default W/Mo Axe or W/R

Hay there guild wars people

New to the game (Starting with Prophecies) and i know this might have been beaten to death a long time ago but since I'm new and haven't been able to find info myself for a recent 2010 info on the W/Mo axe vs W/R debate i thought i would ask for some help.

I'm more of a casual player and tend to play solo more often. I want to know which would be more practical for me.

I'm leaning more to a W/Mo build for the heals but I found that R also have some healing abilities. or this W/R build http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:W/R_NRA_Rage_War

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hey spekx, welcome to GuildWars and Guildwars Guru!

Glad to see you interested in the warrior profession and the variety other professions can bring to it.

GW differs from the typical MMO/Fantasy RPG when it comes to warriors in that warriors are not built to tank and hold aggro so much as to simply do as much damage as possible to squishy backline characters.

The focus of a warrior should be effective use of adrenalin and very efficient use of the small pool of energy that he has, in order to inflict as much damage as he can on a mob.

While in normal mode, you can get away with some healing on yourself, I wouldn't be wasting prescious energy and skill slots on healing.

As melon says, that's the Monk's job. They excel at healing. You deal the damage, they fix you up.

If you want more information, read the following articles on wiki:

This explains the basics of a warrior's attributes:

This is a beginner's guide to playing as a warrior, fine for early pve:

An article by a friend of mine which really gets to the grits of playing as a warrior:

NRA axe doesn't look bad, just remember you have to get about halfway into factions before you can get SY. You won't find battle rage until towards the end of proph.

If you go W/Mo, do so only to bring something like Strength of Honor, a res, and/or hex and condition removal. Healing skills on a warrior generally isn't a good idea. If you must bring a self heal, Lion's Comfort is best.
